1. Who are we?
Liberal Judaism (ULPS) is the data controller (contact details below). This means it decides how your personal data is processed and for what purposes.

2. Your personal data – what is it?
Personal data relates to a living individual who can be identified from that data. Identification can be by the information alone or in conjunction with any other information in the data controller’s possession or likely to come into such possession. The processing of personal data is governed by the General Data Protection Regulation (the “GDPR”).

When you use our website or social media pages we may collect, store and use the following kinds of personal data:
(a) information about your computer and about your visits to and use of this website including geographical location, browser type and version, operating system, referral source, length of visit, page views and website navigation paths;
(b) information that you provide to us when registering with our website to purchase anything from our online shop including your postal and email address;
(c) information that you provide to us for the purpose of subscribing to our newsletters including your name (if provided) and email address;
(d) information that you provide to us when using the services on our website such as contact forms;

(f) information that you post to our website for publication on the internet including your name if permitted and the content of your posts;
(g) information contained in or relating to any communication that you send to us or send through our website or social media pages including contact forms and

Cookies are small, usually randomly encoded, text files that are designed to store basic information (such as visitor preferences). A cookie file is created by the Website browsing and is transmitted and processed by the Web browser software of your computer (or such other device as you use to access the Website including, without limitation, mobile devices and tablets). 3. How do we process your personal data?
Liberal Judaism (ULPS) complies with its obligations under the “GDPR” by keeping personal data up to date; by storing and destroying it securely; by not collecting or retaining excessive amounts of data; by protecting personal data from loss, misuse, unauthorised access and disclosure and by ensuring that appropriate technical measures are in place to protect personal data.

We use your personal data to enable us to:
(a) administer our website and business;
(b) improve our website;
(c) enable your use of the services available on our website;
(d) send you goods purchased through our website;
(e) supply to you services purchased through our website;
(f) send you our email newsletter, if you have requested it – you can inform us at any time if you no longer require the newsletter;
(g) provide third parties with statistical information about our users (but those third parties will not be able to identify any individual user from that information);
(h) deal with enquiries and complaints made by or about you relating to our website;
(i) deal with queries that you make via our website and social media pages;
(j) keep our website secure and prevent fraud; and

4. What is the legal basis for processing your personal data?
Liberal Judaism (ULPS) has identified that it has a lawful basis for collecting and processing your data based on the provision of legitimate interest. The processing relates to providing information about Liberal Judaism, our work and events to anyone visiting our website. A legitimate interest assessment has been conducted as the grounds for this process; this can be viewed on request.

If you use our website to make a purchase or to use a contact form, we have identified that our lawful basis for processing your data is to fulfil a contract.

If you use our website to report a safeguarding concern or other criminal matter, we will process and share your information based on our legal requirements to report any matter of this nature.

5. Sharing your personal data
We may disclose your personal information to any of our employees, officers, agents, or suppliers in order to deliver information, goods or services.
We may also disclose your personal information:
(a) to the extent that we are required to do so by law;
(b) in connection with any ongoing or prospective legal proceedings;
(c) in order to establish, exercise or defend our legal rights (including providing information to others for the purposes of fraud prevention and reducing credit risk);
We will not provide your personal information to third parties, unless we have specified it in this policy.

Information that we collect may be stored and processed in and transferred between any of the countries in which we or our staff operate in order to enable us to use the information in accordance with this policy. This may include countries that do not have data protection laws equivalent to those in force in the European Economic Area. Personal information that you publish on our website or social media or submit for publication on our website may be available, via the internet, around the world. We cannot prevent the use or misuse of such information by others.

Third Party Providers used by Liberal Judaism
We use Google Analytics to evaluate the performance of our site and improve the service we offer you. We do not use Google Analytics to collect any identifiable data. We may transfer information about you outside the EEA for this purpose. We will only do so where permitted by law.

Google Analytics complies with the EU-US Privacy Shield Framework as set out by the US Department of Commerce regarding the collection, use and retention of personal information from European Union member countries. It is subject to enforcement by the Federal Trade Commission. Google, including Google Inc. and its wholly-owned US subsidiaries, has certified that it adheres to the relevant Privacy Shield Principles, including for Google Analytics. All our website financial transactions are handled through our payment services provider, Square (previously PayPal). You can review the provider’s privacy policy at https://squareup.com/gb/legal/privacy. We will share information with our payment services provider only to the extent necessary for the purposes of processing payments you make via our website, refunding such payments and dealing with complaints and queries relating to such payments and refunds.

Our website includes hyperlinks to, and details of, third party websites. We have no control over, and are not responsible for, the privacy policies and practices of third parties.

We sometimes embed content from third party providers such as Youtube and twitter on our website; we have no control over, and are not responsible for the privacy polices and practice of third parties. It will be clear when we use embedded content and we will be clear about its source.

6. How long do we keep your personal data?
We will not keep personal information for longer than 12 months after the information is no longer required to meet any of the uses set out in section 3 of this policy. We will retain personal information if we are required to do so by law, including information relating to legal proceedings and information that might be needed by us to protect or exercise our legal rights.

7. How secure is your personal data?
We cannot guarantee the security of your data as information shared online is by its nature insecure; however we will follow all the technological and organizational procedures we can to keep your data safe. We will store your data on secure servers and use encryption technology to protect all transactions made via our website. You must keep any password issued to you for the purposes of accessing our website secure; we will never ask for it unless it is to login to the site.

8. Your rights and your personal data
Unless subject to an exemption under the GDPR, you have the following rights with respect to your personal data: –
(a) The right to request a copy of your personal data which Liberal Judaism (ULPS) holds about you;
(b) The right to request that Liberal Judaism (ULPS) corrects any personal data if it is found to be inaccurate or out of date;
(c)The right to request your personal data is erased where it is no longer necessary for Liberal Judaism (ULPS) to retain such data;
(d)The right to request that the data controller provide the data subject with his/her personal data and where possible, to transmit that data directly to another data controller, (known as the right to data portability)
(e) The right, where there is a dispute in relation to the accuracy or processing of your personal data, to request a restriction is placed on further processing;
(f) The right to object to the processing of personal data
(g) The right to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioners Office.

9. Further processing
If we wish to use your personal data for a new purpose, not covered by this Data Protection Notice, then we will provide you with a new notice explaining this new use prior to commencing the processing and setting out the relevant purposes and processing conditions.
